The bard's timeless work tells the story of Hermia, betrothed to Demetrius who runs off to the forest with her lover Lysander. On the eve of the wedding Demetrius and Helena, Duke Theseus and Queen Hippolyta set off in pursuit.
The characters get lost in the magic forest, where Oberon and Titania, king and queen of the fairies, also live out their amorous fantasies. And there is Puck, servant to Oberon, the playful spirit of nature. With his love potion, Puck enchants everyone during a night of magic. At dawn, the fantasy evaporates and Shakespeare's creations find happiness.
FIMA 2008 is taking place at the most important venues in the Algarve from 25th April to 1st June and includes 16 concerts performed by major Portuguese and international artists. Source: Observatório do Algarve
