Quarteira, near Vilamoura, is to host the events, which will focus on themes like climate changes, renewable energies and the multi-cultural dialogue.
These events come as a result of cooperation between the CCDR, through its Europe Direct Centre and Enterprise Europe Network, and Loulé Câmara. Other partners are Quarteira parish, Algar, Liberty Seguros and Inatel. The Resident is proud to announce that it has been chosen as the media partner to report the events.
The younger generations are particularly targeted in this year’s programme of Europe Day, with a major exhibition entitled Expo Europa e Ambiente (Europe and Environment exhibition) being opened on May 10 at 10am at the Praça do Mar, in the centre of the village.
Exhibitions, theatre, cinema, wall painting, music and internet access points are some of the things people visiting the Expo Europa e Ambiente stand will find.
On Sunday, May 11, the celebrations will be marked by the second Portugal de Lés a Lés Ecológico race, which is a competition open to eco-friendly vehicles only. The cars are expected to arrive at midday in the main square of Quarteira. All activities are free entrance. Source: The Online Resident
